My son decided to take a gap year after graduation from NYU Shanghai, to pursue something he really likes. He plans to go to travel with friends, become an international volunteer or try to start up an enterprise, and then choose to apply for a graduate school or begin his career. As a university that values openness and tolerance, NYU Shanghai gives its students the independent space of thinking and the capacity of judgement. I totally understand and respect my son’s choice.
