EDVOS extends operating hours for a stronger family violence response
Eastern Domestic Violence Service (EDVOS) has extended its hours of operation, allowing women and children in Melbourne’s east greater access to specialist family violence services.
EDVOS is now operating from 9am - 8pm on weekdays and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays, ensuring women can access specialist family violence support at a time that suits them.
Increased accessibility is key to ensuring that women and children who are experiencing family violence receive support as soon as possible. The change has been immediate, with many women opting for appointments outside of regular business hours. The change has also been welcomed by staff who appreciate greater flexibility of work hours.
“Ensuring that our services are as accessible as possible is really important to us at EDVOS,” said EDVOS Executive Director, Jenny Jackson.
“We are really encouraged by the uptake of appointments in the evening through the week, and also on Saturdays.”
Those impacted by family violence are encouraged to contact EDVOS on 9259 4200 or email@example.com
. In an emergency call police on 000.
EDVOS is a child-focused and child safe organisation.
