Reliant to donate $25K for Dallas ISD teachers impacted from Sunday’s tornadoes

Hundreds of teachers from Thomas Jefferson High School, Edward H. Cary Middle School and Walnut Hill Elementary School rushed to set up new classrooms and welcome students for a second first-day of classes, just a few days after Sunday’s storm. Recognizing the monetary and emotional cost of having to set up a classroom again, Reliant will donate $25,000 for all teachers whose campuses were affected by the storm. Thanks to this effort, teachers can now begin to make their new locations and classrooms feel like home again with educational décor, materials, and supplies.
When: 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28

Thomas A. Edison Middle Learning Center - auditorium
2940 Singleton Blvd.
Dallas, TX 75212

  • Vice president of Reliant will present the $25K check to the three principals whose home campuses have been affected.
  • Principal Massey [Thomas Jefferson High School]; Salas [Cary Middle School] and Potter [Walnut Hill Elementary School] will be available for interviews to discuss how this will positively impact teachers at their campuses.
  • Teachers at Thomas Jefferson will be available for interviews.
