An informal and swinging open social dance and open bandstand for people to give it a shot playing, dancing, or both - like this from a recent one:
Always plenty of people happy to share and help with steps, songs, and techniques.. All up + down the learning curve, students to pro's, people picking it back up after years, everybody in between. It's always a wonderfully wide spread of age, experience, and perspective, and others hanging around, catching up, swinging out, and just checking it out.
Bring your instrument if you would like to join us on the bandstand (and bring a couple lead sheets if you have a song you want to share). Or bring your dancing shoes if you'd like to come and social dance. Or both, go nuts, why not?
Excellent craft soda and beers + some other beverages. Pizza + subs across the street and Rambling House is totally OK if you bring food in. Bring your own ... bring some extra + share it around!
Hit up our Learn+Play It page for tips on how this works, links to the Creole Jazz Band's fake books (concert pitch, Bb, and Eb), lead sheets, circle of 4th's, and more. Some people bring their own Real Dixieland Book (concert, Bb, and NEW Eb - check HalLeonard.com or Stantons).
