Folks we are very sorry to have to tell you that we've decided to cancel this week's jam because of the rapidly spreading new COVID problem. We HATE to do this! If you've ever been there, you know how very much we love this jam. With enormous gratitude to the very good people at the Rambling House, it just seems too risky and not responsible to gather so many friends right at this point in this developing next wave. We want to do our part, however small, in interrupting the spread of this variant and getting our lives back.
We hope VERY much to do the September jam, and the September, October, and November live shows at the Clintonville Woman's Club and Valley Dale Ballroom.
We'll obviously be watching the situation and will keep you informed as things move forward. In the meantime, be kind, be safe, swing it hard, and please use a lot of backbeat!

Next Open Community Jam + Dance
Wed Sept 8th, 8 til 11 Oct 13 and every 2nd Wednesday As always 100% FREE and open to the public!
Come out to enjoy our next jam and dance at the Rambling House Music Bar, 310 E Hudson Street, Columbus. A fun, supportive environment with plenty of people there happy to share and help with tunes or dance steps. Come to play, come to dance, or just come to check it out! Thanks to our friends at SwingColumbus and CBal for helping out + joining in.
NEW PLAYERS, please don't hesitate to bring your instrument and join us right at the start for a low-pressure and learning-friendly first set. We'll start with easier songs backed with seasoned musicians to help you figure it out. We also will have a few legal fake books on hand. Hit up our Learn+Play It page for some tips on how this works, links to legal fake books and lead sheets, and more. Interested but not sure if it's for you? Watch videos of previous jams, how it works, + more info.
IMPORTANT COVID RELATED NOTE: Since this is an indoor event, we request that you please only attend if you are fully vaccinated.
While we won't check vaccination records at the door, we ask that you be respectful of folks who attend who are in vulnerable populations. We are also encouraging folks to check with your potential dance partners to ensure everyone's level of comfort.
Come join us for another gathering this summer. Some low-key outdoor dancing and a chance for Columbus Lindy Hoppers to gather and dance. SwingColumbus DJs will be spinning the vintage tunes, and there is a wonderful shelter with a smooth concrete floor to dance in the summer breezes.
Due to the changes in the public health advisory, and as many events and establishments have done in the past week, we are asking for this to be a vaccinated-only event. We will be reminding you of this as you enter the shelterhouse. Just as you have become accustomed to asking your potential dance partners if they wish to lead or follow, or if they dance Balboa, we are also encouraging folks to check with your dance partners, to confirm their vaccination status, to ensure your level of comfort.
As previously, we will also have plenty of hand sanitizer around and encourage frequent use. We are doing our best to continue to reunite our community during this time, as well as keep everyone safe so that we can enjoy dancing with each and everyone of you.
Come out, dance, say hello, or just soak in the swing music and the summer.
Please be sure to bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated.
