March 25-29 is Public Schools Week 2019. Here's Ways That You Can Be #PublicSchoolProud

Public Schools Week 2019 celebrates the promise of a strong public education system. From Capitol Hill to communities across America, educators, parents and community members are working together to build the best schools for all of our children and for our country’s future.

The Learning First Alliance and its member associations--representing 10 million educators, parents, and school board members--are planning a full week of activities to show the great things happening in public schools across the country--and the potential for many more. Our toolkit has ideas for outreach to businesses and community leaders, social media graphics and prompts, and our new #PublicSchoolProud poster that can be printed and displayed in your school or office.

On Monday, March 25, we will kick off PSW19 with a webinar on how to get involved, followed by a Twitter chat to connect with other advocates across the country. The webinar starts at 8 p.m. ET and the Twitter chat will begin immediately afterward, approximately 8:30 p.m. Register here.

On March 27, Capitol Hill representatives will host Public Schools Week events, including a briefing on students with disabilities and a call for more funding for public education by faith leaders. A bipartisan group of six members of the House and Senate are co-hosting Public Schools Week and introducing a resolution in their respective chambers. Learn more about these events at

And be sure to check out our series of #PublicSchoolProud videos on YouTube. These videos draw viewers into the day-to-day activities of six exceptional public schools across the country, and show how these schools and their educators are making a difference in the lives of their students.
