In Islam, education has been given foremost importance from its inception. This has been well demonstrated during 3rd Century Hijarh (i.e 9th Century), whereas religious sciences like Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, along with Medicine, Mathematics, Astronomy and other worldly sciences were taught under one roof. Universities such as Qayrawan (in Morocco), Zaytuna (in Tunis) and Al-Azhar (in Egypt) are very good examples for these. It is in this same essence that the ACJU looks at education that has been in existence since the time of our predecessors.
There are around 10,000 schools where approximately 4.6 million students are taking their education in Sri Lanka. There are different types of ethnic groups among them. They are all our country’s future assets. Every child born in this country is blessed with some sort of inborn talents, which should be identified by intellectuals and scholars, in order to bring out the best by enabling each student to discover his/her talents, realize their potential and develop a passion for learning that lasts throughout their lives.  Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The people are like mines of silver and gold”. Under the concept of “Education for All” the vision of ACJU Education Division is meant to support each and every child in our country irrespective of their ethnicity.
In this long & ambitious journey of ours, the Year 2016/17 was yet another fruitful year for the Education Division, who continued with efforts in supporting 27 schools in Colombo & Kandy district under the themes of “Every Child Matters”, “Transforming Every Child” and “Infrastructure   Development”.
Alhamdulillah the ACJU Education Division conducted its Annual “Education for All” Conference at Miami Reception Hall, Colombo 06 on the 10th of December. The event was definitely an eye-opener for all stakeholders, in which the milestones accomplished were displayed and explained in detail.
