Alaris was awarded a prime contract by the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs, Office of the Governor to conduct a study of the potential UAS Industry in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The study will emphasize Kentucky's infrastructure,legislation and workforce and will develop a synchronized action plan to enable Kentucky to capitalize on the impending integration of UAS into the national airspace by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Alaris is teamed with Virginia-based Axcel Innovation which specializes in government economic modeling. Alaris Principal Tony Pucciarella stated "We're excited to work with Kentucky leadership to enhance the development of unmanned systems in the state. Kentucky has a strong aviation industry and has taken a proactive step in commissioning this study." The study which is schedule to be completed this spring will identify steps to leverage existing education and industry strengths to enhance Kentucky's role in UAS.
