Education Events

AMWA-PATH is working with many different schools, institutions, and other areas to plan LIFT (Learning to Identify and Fight Trafficking) Trainings. If you are interested in bringing this free CME-accredited training to your institution, please reach out to path_admin@amwa-doc.org with proposed dates and locations.

Committee Updates
The Advocacy Committee is excited to announce that our 2nd ADVOCATE Meeting will be October 18th, 2022 at 8pmEST/5pm: “I Identified Human Trafficking, Now What? Intervention Techniques for Students and Physicians” - Meeting is 40 minutes and includes a brief lecture and interactive cases

The PATH Research Committee is currently working on finalizing the manuscript entitled "Human Trafficking and Public Health: Survivor Compensation and Responsible Collaboration." The committee is hosting monthly journal clubs as well, which are included in the PATH calendar.

The public relations committee is working on spreading awareness for October's Domestic Violence Month- check out new posts on Instagram (@amwapath) and Twitter (@amwapath). The PR committee is excited to gain more followers and reach a wider audience on social media. They focus on educational posts regarding human trafficking, highlighting our monthly newsletters, student spotlights, and other campaigns. If you are interested in joining the public relations team, email averma2@sgu.edu.
The education subcommittee is continuing work on gathering resources to generate educational flyers. They are also creating content to highlight this month's focus on Domestic Violence awareness.
The fundraising committee is excited to announce its new committee leader, Diana Jaber. For interest in this committee, please contact her at dianajaber@gwmail.gwu.edu.
