Nicky's update

Isn’t Autumn fantastic! The gorgeous clear days and fabulous colour around our beautiful country certainly gives us every reason to be a ‘proud kiwi’. I have enjoyed a really busy time of late, trekking myself around Rakaia and parts of Ashburton, you may have seen me out walking or more recently my sign written car - please don’t hesitate to call me.

I have learnt a lot about Rakaia when talking to the locals. To this end I have determined that Rakaia is actually very popular and there is a large shortage of rental accommodation. Rakaia has a relaxed and peaceful lifestyle offering a wonderful community spirit. With its close proximity to work for many people eg Methven, Ashburton, Leeston and further north to Rolleston and Christchurch, Rakaia has affordable accommodation and is a very good rural town to invest or reside in.  Don’t forget the array of outdoor pursuits on offer are amazing and for the snow enthusiasts Mt Hutt ski field is so close.
Mid Canterbury interestingly had the same number of residential properties sold in March this year (59) as March 2015 (58). Although (here comes the difference!) the median residential sale price this March is $355,000 where-as March 2015 was $285,000 hence, what we should really expect is ‘an increase on our investment(s)’.
What Mid Canterbury certainly offers is quite ‘unique' - affordable housing, excellent schooling, superb amenities, a great new EA Network Sports centre and all just a short distance from a major city and international airport.

I hope you enjoy reading the rest of my newsletter for April. Until next time, Nicky.

Three Reasons to Sell your Home in Autumn

Many people believe that Spring and Summer are the best times to put their home on the market. And yes, traditionally Spring is when the gardens look the best, but that doesn’t mean you should disregard the beauty and timing of Autumn.

The sweltering heat of summer is over but the freezing cold days are not yet upon us. Autumn allows for crisp sunny days that show your home in a very good light.

Less Competition
In cooler months we often experience less properties coming onto the market, but that doesn’t mean there are less people wanting to buy. Listing your home in Autumn means you are up against less competition from other listings, more attention for you!

Serious Buyers
In Autumn you can attract a more serious type of buyer who may be looking to move before the winter arrives.
