A MESSAGE FROM OUR RECRUITING COMMITTEE
This year our recruiting materials, job postings, and pitch to potential new volunteers got sharper and more effective. We added new schools to our outreach and, more importantly, established real partnerships with some schools. We also added a video PowerPoint presentation to our recruitment repertoire that seemed to be well received.
This season CTA made solid inroads in holding CTA-exclusive information sessions at multiple schools, including Queens College, Pace University, and New York University. With these partnerships now in place, we will revisit these schools next year armed with what we learned this year and with fewer obstacles to negotiate. We will also add schools that we have not yet worked one-on-one with to our schedule.
So, what does all this translate to in terms of actual results? This season approximately two hundred students were enticed to meet with us. Even more importantly, the percentage of students who took the all-essential next step after their initial introduction of filling out and submitting our CTA Volunteer Application increased significantly from prior years. So far more than one hundred students have submitted a completed CTA Volunteer Application.
Most importantly, I want to thank Wenny Zheng, Victor Jordan, Bruce Neiger, Tom Poon and Emil Gomez for attending career fairs on behalf of CTA. Attending a career fair requires a significant commitment of time and effort and they are crucial to our recruiting needs.
- Dan Zuk, Recruiting Committee
