Where has the time gone?

First off welcome to all the new folks who have joined the email list, we greatly appreciate your support!  As one third of 2018 is now in the books we took a second to just marvel at how fast this year is passing by.  We played a sparse 5 shows during that time and it was an interesting stretch to say the least.  Of the 5 shows only two were played with the full band.  First Eric went to the hospital for abdominal pain and we played King Neptunes sans keys.  Nothing a little adjustment to the set list couldn't handle.  Then Chris got the opportunity to visit Bangladesh on someone else's dime, easy answer to that question.  Our good buddy Francis, long time musical collaborator of both Chris and Rich (go look for their former band Diggem on Spoitify), who played with us at June Lake earlier this year stepped up and laid down the bottom end at Larry's.  Finally Lisa's other band, Jerry's Middle Finger, got the opportunity to open for the Golden Gate Wingmen in Lake Tahoe.  So the boys got to sing a few more songs each at Neptunes and had good friend Cathy Morcos jump up to sing as well (she played in Family Tree with Eric, Rich & Chris!!).  We were all really stoked to be whole again when we shared the stage with Cubensis on 420.  We've got two groovy events in May followed by back-to-back Saturdays at Neptunes and Larry's in June on the 9th and 16th.  We've been cooking up some new originals and covers for your listening pleasure, and will be unveiling them soon.  Hope to see you all out on the dance floor, smile on your face, getting lost in the music!

Cinco De Mayo weekend is going to be a blast as the OC Music Fest returns after a multi-year hiatus.  Teddy T puts together one well oiled music machine with two stages of almost seamless music for 3 days.  Come camp in Silverado and enjoy the festival life in your own backyard.   The Grass and members of will be playing both Saturday and Sunday.  The Grass will be playing late afternoon on Saturday, the Brett Davis Experience will be starting off Sunday morning and Jerry's Middle Finger will be closing out the festival on Sunday (like Jimi at Woodstock).  This really is a great deal for the weekend, but single day tickets are available too!!
If you don't know Groovesession, you ought to.  Check them out at www.grovesessionmusic.com  they are worth the effort.  Recently their 10 year long power trio line-up dissolved.  The Brother's Sanchez didn't miss a beat reforming as a five piece with sax and percussion added to spice things up.  We get to share the stage with them at MTL in downtown Riverside and we get to play with our long time friend Gabe Hartman on Sax.  He is the man, hands down, and we always have great shows when he sits in.  He's sat in with us since '99 when we were still just playing backyard parties.  If you're far from the IE please spread the word and help us get the Inland Grass growing!
