latest news

Hello fellow dancer,
No message from me for weeks and now some not so good news ... :-(

You might have thought that we were about to begin holding dances again.
We first had the 21st Sept down to restart but had to postpone as we were not ready with the increase in logistics and planning now required. The new date of early October was to be confirmed after we had a meeting of all the Totnes Dance Collective people involved in holding dances.
However, I've just learned that the Totnes Town Council (who manage the Civic Hall) have cancelled all dances happening at that venue. Therefore we cannot start until there is a change in the situation.

I'd already begun working on an email to send you so I'll let you know of some of the changes that we were having to bring in as this will probably still apply whenever it is that we DO restart.

As places will be limited (it was to have been 30 max meaning 26 or 27 dancers depending upon the number of people helping / organising the evening), there will be an online pre-booking system in place.
As the costs will increased (we were to pay extra for cleaning plus pay for the booking system) we will have to raise the cost of entry to £12. This will be the first price increase since the Collective began in September 2015!
Concessions will become £10.

All the teachers and Steering Circle are meeting on 28th September (c/o Zoom!) so there might be another email after that with any new developments.

Sorry about this disappointing news.
