Follow up to the 2013 High-Level Meeting on Disability and Development
The President of the UN General Assembly has organized an interactive panel discussion with UN representatives, civil society, academic institutions, the private sector and other relevant stakeholders. The discussion will develop conversations on the global disability rights framework, including the CRPD, the new 2030 Agenda and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in fulfilling these commitments
The discussion will involve two panels, which include civil society representatives in both:
- Stephanie Ortoleva, of Women Enabled International, in the first panel discussion on mainstreaming the rights-based approach to disability.
- Lauro Purcil, of the ASEAN Disability Forum, in the second panel discussion on implementing the 2030 Agenda under the guidance of the CRPD.
