Dear Parent/Caregivers
On Monday, the school captains, Mrs Goss and I attended a Mass of Thanksgiving for the work of the Mercy Sisters in our Diocese. The Sisters have played an integral role in the education of young people, having arrived in Albury in 1868, led by Mother Mary Ignatius Murphy. Over many years, various Mercy sisters have contributed to our St Patrick’s community and yesterday was a lovely opportunity to give thanks for their wonderful work and acknowledge their commitment and selfless work. We thank the Diocese for the invitation and to Sister Anne Hagan for preparing such a meaningful and engaging liturgy. Sister Anne is a Mercy Sister and is still active in her ministry, sharing her faith and knowledge as a member of the CEDWW Evangelisation and RE team.
Dr Andrew Watson, our Director at CEDWW, took time out from his schedule to visit our school on Monday. He was able to visit the Year 5 and Year 6 classrooms. Whilst in Year 6, the students were able to ask him questions about his role within CEDWW and in the Year 5 learning space he was able to gain an insight into what they are learning about in Writing.
