Term 3 Week 8

Dear Parents,

The term is quickly coming to a close and there has been lots of wonderful work happening around our school. Congratulations to Mr Kittelty and his Tournament of Minds Teams. The teams competed in Wagga two weekends ago, and whilst there were no prizes, they certainly represented our school with pride. All involved agreed that it was a wonderful experience, allowing the children to use their creativity, critical thinking and communication skills.

Our Book Week celebrations were lots of fun and the week concluded with an assembly where each grade had the opportunity to present one of the shortlisted books. Congratulations to everyone for their enthusiastic participation.

Another congratulations to all our Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday night. The children were well prepared which made for a beautiful celebration. Thank you to all our families for supporting your children on their Sacramental journey, and thank you to the Year 6 teachers, Jane Fawcett & Margy Brown for the preparation of this Sacrament.

Today our Year 6 choir sang at the opening of the Nagle Centre, Albury and St Vincent de Paul Housing. They certainly sang beautifully and were the perfect ambassadors for our school.

You can view lots of photos  of all of these events on our website galleries page. Thanks to our resident photographer Roy.

CEDWW have completed an e-safety risk review on our social media platforms and have made the following recommendations:

Our school community celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday night with Fr Joel confirming our candidates at St Patrick’s Church.

We especially thank Fr Joel for supporting us so lovingly on our faith journey, as well as our classroom teachers Mrs Jo Good, Mr Ryan Kittelty and Miss Jess Bice.

The Confirmation Mass also gave students a great opportunity to be engaged prayerfully in the Mass, with students reading, singing and playing music in our liturgy.

We thank the school choir for leading our singing so beautifully and we give a very special thank you to Mr Roy Thompson who skillfully took photos of the students on their reflection day as well as before and during the Mass. View these on our website galleries page

Thank you also to our School Principals, Mr Rob Unsworth and Mrs Liz Johnston for assisting in our liturgy and for the support of our school staff on this special occasion.

Year 2 students will this week begin their preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a great opportunity to spend some time with your children talking about the importance of forgiveness and how we can practice this daily in the context of our family.

Congratulations to all students who participated across our PSSA Winter sports events. Please remember to return sports shirts to your respective teachers ASAP.

The fete is some time away, but we need our school community & their business associates to assist with donations of vouchers, goods and cash that can be used as prizes and to purchase prizes for the wheel. This is a great way to get involved and help with the fete if you don't otherwise have time to help out! We are specifically seeking vouchers for local businesses, toys, games, bikes, but cash is also really helpful in enabling us to purchase prizes. Please do what you can to donate, and get businesses you are associated with involved. All prizes can be dropped into the school office. If you have any queries, please contact Ben Mitchell via email Thank you for your assistance!

If you have any questions in relation to our school fete please email Lisa Spinelli on and keep an eye out at the beginning of next term for the helper notes.

PLEASE NOTE: If your child is ill or complaining of stomach pains or fever please keep them home. We have a large number of children being sent home with the gastro bug. Information can be viewed here.…/…/viral-gastroenteritis.aspx
Staff WILL NOT allow children to leave the school grounds to get into a car that is double parked. Take the time to drive around the block. The bus zone and parent pick up areas are attended by staff until 3.25pm.
Also if you are driving in to pick up please move forward for other cars that are waiting to enter the parks and stay in your car to collect your children.
The area runs smoothly if you follow these simple rules.
If you wish to come into the school the multi-story car park in Kiewa street is available to use via the traffic lights.
Do you have any unused bikes lying around home that would suit teenagers or adults?
Sanctuary Refugee Program is looking for secondhand bikes that will assist newly arrived migrants with getting to school, TAFE, getting to work, and to recreational activities on the weekends. Importantly, it will provide an opportunity to connect people to their new community.
If you have a bike in the shed that you do not want, just drop it in to Cycle Station (ask for Paul), located near the Albury Railway Station by 5 October.
The plan is to run workshops that teach young people and adults how to fix their bikes and to teach them basic road rules.
If you know of someone that may be able to help, please pass on this email to them.
If you have any queries or would like more information, contact Mandy on 6023 8295.
Many thanks
