Lots of opportunities to meet up with fellow visitor-economy folks coming up soon following on from the AGM, where you can find out all that went on here.
Tuesday 17th May Ludlow have their Upload event at Ludlow Castle from 5:30
Wednesday May 25th is Shrewsbury Museum at 11am and Castle at noon. Who's been to both recently (if ever)? - it seems not many of us!
Friday 24 June we have an opportunity with Shropshire Gold to visit Stokesay Court, thanks to Caroline Magnus.  Come and see where Atonement was made, look at the restored gardens and have a chat with colleagues.
All these trips and meetings are designed so you can meet up with fellow tourism people, have a chat and pick up tips on promoting your businesses - plus telling us what you want us to do.
I look forward to meeting more of you on these occassions
Paul

Weds 25 May Shrewsbury Museum & Castle
We have arranged a free Orientation tour of Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery along with Shrewsbury Castle/Shropshire Regimental Museum on Wednesday 25 May starting at the Museum at 11 and the Castle at Noon.  The Council currently subsidise these services and increasing visitor numbers is one way to help retain these assets. As with all our general activities this is a great way to find out information and network with like-minded people. Plus you can inform the Board what you want them to spend your money on in the coming year. If you think you may attend but haven't yet told us please email  info@visitshropshirehills.co.uk.
AGM
2016 AGM was on Tuesday 10 May
at The Discovery Centre Craven Arms.
Draft Minutes plus copies of the Powerpoint presentations  are all online at  http://www.visitshropshirehills.co.uk/2016-agm/  I was told by a number of people that for once an AGM  actually contained presentations which made it interesting!  I think a flick through the slides will give most some new ideas. Welcome to Caroline and Louise to the Board, and many thanks to Marie Kreft who made a special trip to talk about her new book.
Friday 24 June Visit to Stokesay Court 11am
Caroline Magnus has very kindly offered to run an informal  tour of the lovely Stokesay Court followed by a cuppa, for SHT in conjunction with Shropshire Gold. Stokesay Court is a magnificent example of late Victorian architecture with its high, galleried carved oak central hall and dramatic views over Ludlow and the nearby Clee Hills. The house was used as a convalescent hospital in WW1 and by Lancing School in WW2. In 2007 it was the setting for the film Atonement. The gardens were laid out by H E Milner and have had a lot of restoration  work recently. If anyone is interested in a particular aspect of the house or gardens, it would be helpful to let Caroline know so she can ensure it is covered. Please email info@visitshropshirehills.co.uk so we have an idea of numbers.
