BEST PLACES FOR BUSINESS AND CAREERS.

I am quoted in Forbes's Best Places for Business and Careers 2016.

Huge thanks to reporter Kurt Badenhausen for the opportunity. Forbes's top three cities are:
  1. Denver, CO
  2. Provo, UT
  3. Raleigh, NC
The Forbes list is a great starting point for companies in their understanding of cities across the United States. When I speak to clients about location strategy I share that the right city for any one operation depends on the volume and concentration of required job skills, demographics, size of the operation, projected growth, local culture, accessibility, incentives, and other factors that are particular to the company.

You can read about Forbes's methodology here.

This is a good occasion to remind you that my Strategic Consulting team has world-class location advisory and site selection capabilities. We are especially adept at synthesizing the complex mix of factors that CEOs, COOs, BU leads, and Heads of HR care about when making location decisions. If your company or your clients have...
  • Business operations in high cost or high tax states (e.g. CA, NY, IL, NJ, CT)
  • Plans to grow or relocate
  • Difficulties sourcing and/or retaining talent
...please reach out to me to explore how we can help save significant recurring costs and improve workforce quality and availability. I'm always happy to connect and share my perspective. Our team has helped clients with everything from call center to shared services centers to centers of excellence to headquarters.

Next week I'll resume my usual format of links on economics, real estate, architecture, and technology. As always, thanks for your support.

Jeff
