Despite assurances made in the House of Commons over a month ago, Home Secretary Priti Patel has still not made time to meet with Aid to the Church in Need to discuss the case of Pakistani Christian Maira Shahbaz.

Maira’s case is now desperate. Having escaped her kidnapper and rapist – who, on pain of death, forced her to marry him and convert – Maira, now 15, has reaffirmed her Christian faith. She is now deemed an ‘apostate’ and lives in fear of her life with people going house to house looking for her.

Can you help Maira by sending an email to Priti Patel asking her to honour her pledge to meet with us and MP Sir Edward Leigh?

income for priests. Masses offered for your intentions – more than 25,000 of them – have given a vital lifeline to priests and communities in dioceses across India. Read more here.
