Take a Moment to banish the autumn blues

Dear Friend

The nights are getting longer and the weather's feeling chilly - November really has arrived! Thankfully, there's plenty going on at Noah's Ark Children's Hospice to banish the blues.

For a start there's just two weeks to go till our fabulous Precious Moments Concert on 26 November. Our Christmas cards are in the shops and there's still time to sign up for next month's Santa Run.

So please Take a Moment to find out what's happening this November at Noah's Ark.
We're getting in tune for our Precious Moments Concert

With not long to go to our 2016 Precious Moments Concert, all our choirs and singers are in great voice, ready for the big day.

Goodwyn School and Enfield Harmony are rehearsing hard and have been telling us how it's going.  Plus local singer Luena Martinez, who featured in this year's X Factor, has joined our line-up. Read our news pages to find out more.

The concert will take place on Saturday 26 November 2016 in the beautiful venue of St James Church Muswell Hill and promises to be a magical pre-Christmas treat.  We'll have two performances - at 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are still available so make sure you book now.

Sign up for the Santa Run

If you're after a unique way to celebrate the festive season, look no further than the annual Santa Run. It takes place on 4 December in Victoria Park, east London - and we've still got Team Noah places available. The event is great fun, and there's a huge sense of camaraderie among the Santas who run, jog or walk to the 5k or 10k finish line. Children can take part too, and there's a Santa suit for every runner. Find out how to book a place here.

Thanks for keeping us afloat!

We're giving a big shout out to Goodwyn School, Mill Hill for keeping us afloat today
(9 November). Thanks to a major fundraising effort, that included a sponsored silence and building an ark out of 2p pieces, the school has raised £5,000. In return we're celebrating their achievement, on our website and social media. Read more about what they've been up to and find out how to fund us for a day.

Lottie works with art and soul

Fine Art-trained Lottie Thompson joined Noah's Ark as a Specialist Carer in May after volunteering and working with children, older people and adults. According to Lottie: “The best moments in my job so far have been seeing how much of a positive impact we can have both on the children we support and their families." Read more about Lottie and the Specialist Care we provide on our website.

Launching our new appeal

According to one of our families: “The best gifts in life will never be found under a Christmas tree. Those gifts are the support, care and precious moments you have given our family.” This, and the many heart-felt messages we receive at Christmastime provide the focus for our Precious Moments Appeal, which launches this week.Visit our website to make a donation and help us give the gift of time together, which is priceless to our families.

Could you be a regular donor?

John Rogerson became a Noah’s Ark regular donor after spotting one of our posters. “I was with my two boys, Zachary and Noah! That's why it caught my eye,” he explained. “Noah's Ark looked close to my heart as our boy Noah had a shaky start. If we can help parents and children at the most difficult time of their lives, then it's a pleasure to give anything we can.” Read more about John and make a regular donation

Check out our lovely cards

Have you bought your Christmas cards yet? If not take a look at our beautifully-designed cards by illustrator Jane Ray. You can buy them in packs of 10 (all one design or five each of two designs). The cards are available from our shops and online now. And if you don't send Christmas cards we have general cards available all year round from the same venues.
Long term supporter Bank of Cyprus UK visited our hospice site this month and donated £5,000 to Noah’s Ark. Through regular support the bank has raised  £32,000 over the past five years helping us make every precious moment count. If you think your company could make a regular donation to help us plan and grow the charity, or you're interested in getting involved in other ways, please contact Sarah Cadogan, Corporate Partnerships Manager on 0208 449 8877.
