Take a Moment to say Yes-I-Canuary

Dear Elizabeth

It's our first Take a Moment of 2017 and our first opportunity to wish all our friends and supporters a Happy New Year!

January is the perfect month for a new start, and whether your resolution is to be fitter and healthier or do more with spare time our Yes-I-Canuary campaign might be just the thing.

Backed by TV's Judge Rinder, Yes-I-Canuary is about seizing the moment to make positive change in your life ... and help Noah's Ark into the bargain. So however you want to make a difference in 2017 - by becoming a volunteer, making a regular donation or signing up for one of our brilliant fundraising events - we'd like to help!

Take a Moment to find out more about the campaign and what else is new this January at Noah's Ark.

Judge Rinder orders you to say Yes-I-Canuary!

He's run marathons in London and New York and reached the quarter final of Strictly. Now Judge Rob Rinder is backing our Yes-I-Canuary, New Year campaign. And he's only persuading his Strictly mate, gold-medallist Greg Rutherford MBE to come and board and motivate us too!

Ideas include signing up for a half marathon, deciding to give a few hours a week to help a family by volunteering or helping us with a regular donation for the price of a coffee. Read what Judge Rinder has to say, and tell us what you're doing on social media using #YesICanuary

Declutter and feed our shops

January is the perfect time to throw open your cupboards and cast off all those items you never wear or use. Our charity shops and eBay store are desperate for your good quality clothes, books, homewares and electrical goods. And if your Christmas presents didn't quite hit the mark, they'll find a warm welcome in our shops! Find out more and read about our new Barnet shop manager Allan Walker and eBay guru Will Paterson.

Kyle learns footy Noah's style

Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker paid three Noah’s Ark children a surprise visit last month at their school in Enfield. Read about the visit and hear what Kyle has to say on the Spurs website. During the visit Wiktor, Eli and Gulirem gave Kyle the resounding message 'Yes We Can' when they showed him how to play football their style on mats in the gym. Kyle used the opportunity to talk about our work and promote our Precious Moments Appeal.

Our Winter appeal raises £15k

Never mind Yes-I-Canuary, you made it Yes-I-Did-December - by raising £15,700 for our winter appeal. A major team effort by Noah's Ark supporters, our charity partner Spurs and their fans brought us to that amazing total. Thanks to everyone who donated, held Xmas jumper days, sang carols or helped in many ways. Pictured are Sarum Hall choir who sang at the Spurs match on 18 December helping us raise £3,000. Read more here.

Boost your career - volunteer!

Saying Yes-I-Canuary to volunteering with Noah's Ark will bring you plenty of personal satisfaction, and might just boost your career too! It's certainly worked for Corporate Fundraising intern Eleanor O'Sullivan, who has just landed a full-time job after four months with us."My favourite thing about Noah’s Ark is  that you really do feel part of the team," she said. Read about Eleanor and find the role for you on our volunteer pages.
Prepare to be dazzled and amazed.  If you're looking for a night out with a difference, travel back in time with Morgan and West and their thrilling magic show. The event has been organised by Noah's Ark supporter Steve Kelly - find out more and read his story now. And if you fancy running an even of your own, here's what you need to know. The show is on 4 February in the Winchmore, N21.
