Hello!  The end of the year is approaching fast.... very fast!   In this issue we tackle the 90 day trial period over the holiday season, as well as what to do to prevent THAT GUY from ruining the Christmas do.

90 day trial period

Many small businesses are using 90 day trial periods and used properly, they can be a great tool. There has been a recent court case that has led to some clarification around required wording in agreements.

Most importantly, there needs to be an effective start date as well as an end date or a reference somewhere to a start date that equates to the start of the trial period. If you would like your trial period clause reviewed please call for assistance.

Christmas Confusion?

The Christmas season does sometimes lead to confusion with trial periods. Common questions we get asked include:
  • Are public holidays included?
  • If you close down does the trial also go on hold?
If you have had staff start since September and their trial period crosses over the Christmas/New Year period please give me a call to discuss how this may affect you.
