Dear <<First name>>,

NTUC Fairprice leads the way in sourcing sustainable palm oil

PM Haze welcomes the move by NTUC to join the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). RSPO is a multi stakeholder international initiative for sustainable palm oil. Currently, palm oil certified by RSPO is the closest we have to haze free oil. NTUC is the first supermarket in SE Asia to become a member of the RSPO.

PM Haze’s engagement with NTUC on this topic was highlighted through a letter by our co-founder Tan Yi Han’s letter to The Strait Times. The letter called on major super market chains to carry RSPO certified palm oil. NTUC responded to this appeal by announcing that they have started carrying RSPO certified cooking oil.

As a RSPO member NTUC has committed to sourcing sustainable palm oil for it house brand range of products. This is a significant step as half of packaged goods on supermarket shelves contain palm oil. We hope other supermarket chains will follow NTUC’s lead in sustainable sourcing of palm oil.

Consumers can play by their part by supporting NTUC’s call to protect our environment.  By choosing to use sustainable cooking oil and eating at eateries that do so we can all do our bit for a haze-free ASEAN.

Recruitment for Focus Group Discussion
We are recruiting participants for our Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Haze for Parents with Young Kids on 26 or 27 May! The objective of the FGD is to identify effective messaging that connects the dots between haze, palm oil and our consumption.
