Kenai Peninsula Mission Church
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19

Much to be Thankful for on the Peninsula...

We are thankful to the Lord for all of the firsts that He granted to us in the month of November...

Our first baby!
At 4:09 am on November 7th, we welcomed our first child, Katherine Elizabeth Grace Allen into our family. After twenty eight hours of labor that included getting pulled over by the police, a transfer from the birth center to the hospital, and a number other memorable moments, Katherine weighed into this world at 7 lbs, 8.3 oz. & 21.5 inches long.

Our first KPMC members
In preparation for our first corporate worship service, a number of the original bible study members took membership vows or transferred their membership to the Kenai Peninsula Mission Church. The membership of KPMC is currently twenty six members strong.

Our first KPMC corporate worship service
On November 15th, over fifty folks gathered for KPMC's first corporate worship service. We are grateful to the leadership of Star of the North Lutheran Church, who graciously let us use their sanctuary for the service. The Rev. John Jones and family, as well as Ruling Elder Jim Strong from Faith Presbyterian Anchorage traveled to Kenai (an almost six hour round trip!) to join us in this first worship service. As has been mentioned before, this service was not a "public launch"; rather, it is the next phase in our plan towards a public launch. Going forward, we intend hold three Bible studies and one corporate worship service a month.

Our first baptisms
We were blessed to interview five children for membership, baptism and admission to the Lord's Supper prior to our first worship service; thus, all five children were baptized in our first service and were admitted to the Table.

A Financial Update ...

We are, of course, immensely thankful to the Lord that, through the generosity of so many of our partners, He has provided the necessary funds to support the Kenai Peninsula Mission through the end of this year. Additionally, there have been a number of anonymous one time donations that will be applied towards the 2016 operational costs. We will be able to more accurately calculate the impact of these one time donations as December comes to a close.

Below is the current three year assessment of the additional funds that still need to be raised or pledged in order to meet the yearly KPMC operational budget:
  • 2016: 16% of the budget ($26,300)
  • 2017: 25% of the budget ($40,600)
  • 2018: 32% of the budget ($52,200)

Mom, Dad and Katherine Elizabeth Grace
The first corporate worship service of the Kenai Peninsula Mission Church included five baptisms and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. We began our series in 1 Peter with a sermon on the first two verses of chapter one entitled "The Gospel in twenty seconds or Less."
Pray for
  • Praise for the safe delivery of Katherine Elizabeth Grace.
