Try a Specialized MTB tyre.

As riders, we tend to stick to a tyre we know. When you ride the same tread pattern for years, they become very predictable and it's hard to want to try something different "if it ain't broke." There are many good tyres out there these days, but we think these are better and here are some good reasons to try some out.

Highly engineered, pro tested, race proven.

Specialized has been in the tyre game for decades with big investment into fine-tuning their designs and compounds. They have the World Cup results to back them up.

Lower prices.

Prices have been lowered by $20-$40 across the range of MTB tyres, making them less expensive in-store than similar tyres online.

Pricing is easy and based on casing.
  • Standard 2Bliss $50
  • GRID 2Bliss $60
  • BLCK DMND 2Bliss $70 (except for Eliminator & Hillbilly which are $90)

30-Day guarantee.

Specialized is so confident in their tyres that they guarantee you'll like them. But if you don't, just bring them back with your receipt within 30 days and we'll refund you.

Note, the guarantee only applies to tyres bought aftermarket, not ones that come spec'd on new bikes.

Easy to understand variations.

Buying Specialized tyres is easy. You pick the pattern, size and casing. All tubeless ready. All with the excellent GRIPTON compound. Available in 2.1", 2.3", 2.6" or 2.8". Easy.

Casings explained.

The standard casing is supple, light and fast, perfect for XC bikes or on the front of a trail bike that doesn't see too many rocks.

GRID 2Bliss

More sidewall support and puncture protection, the GRID is the best all-around casing for trail bikes. Tough and reasonably light, these will suit most Christchurch riders.

For enduro, downhill and eBikes, this casing has 2 ply sidewalls, for good support and pinch protection, with a 1 ply tread area to keep it supple. Great on the back of enduro bikes or front/rear if you're hard on wheels.

Tread patterns summarised.

Fast Trak

The light and fast XC tyre. These are excellent summer tyres for general XC and racing.

Ground Control

This one is a classic. The Ground Control is a versatile trail tyre and go well on the front of XC bikes in the winter or looser conditions.

A fast rolling trail tyre for the dryer months, these are real good back tyres for trail bikes. They pair well with a Butcher up front.

A new tread pattern, this is the best enduro tyre with the right mix of grip and rolling speed. They're good front and rear or out back with a Butcher in front.

The best downhill tyre, the Butcher has heaps of grip. Always a good front tyre. They're also good out back in the winter.

With huge knobs, this tyre is for the loosest conditions making it a good winter tyre up front. Works well with a Butcher in back.
