Ethical demographic data collection

Monday 19 September 2022 • 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm AEST

Previously in the Intersectionality Series, we outlined the guiding ethical principles for collecting diversity data. This time, we'll delve into the specifics of asking for demographic data. Our speakers will explore:
  • how to co-design demographic questions and response options;
  • the limitations of HR data (as opposed to anonymous surveys, for example) as a means of measuring diversity;
  • who gets to see these data, in what form, and for what purpose; and
  • how to avoid using deficit indicators.
Speakers
