Happy New Year

Here we are again- the beginning of a new year. It's January-
the month where the gyms become crammed full and people resolve to eat healthier foods, while others decide to take up new activities. Maybe this is the year you want to start volunteering!

Volunteer with us
Read and Feed has several volunteer opportunities such as sorting books, restocking mobile classrooms to go program sites, picking up food, and tutoring.

Our goal is to have two students to every one tutor so that the children can have individualized attention and time to work on the aspects of reading and writing that are difficult for them.
The following sites are all in need of more tutors:

Wynslow Park- Mondays at the 6:15 pm session
Cedar Moor- Mondays at the 5 pm session
Communities in Schools (Kentwood)- Tuesdays at 5:30 pm
Central on the Green- Wednesdays at the 5 pm session
Apply to volunteer

Financial Contributions

Perhaps your New Year's resolution is to donate a certain percentage of your income to a nonprofit organization or to teach your children the value of community service. Companies around the world are making community involvement a priority and will match employee donations and/or offer paid volunteer hours. Click here to see a list of companies with matching gift programs. If your employer is not listed, please check with your human resources department.

Volunteers Needed!

We need volunteers to sort books for us. You'll determine the grade level of each book and whether they are in good enough condition.
When: Friday, February 2
Time: 10 am-1 pm or 1-4 pm

If you would like to sign up, please email or call Heather: heather.cross@readandfeed.org or 919-538-3840.
