Providing a COVID Safe environment at our events

Scheduled Brimbank City Council upcoming events will be managed in alignment and subject to the Victorian Department of Health guidelines and COVIDSafe settings for coronavirus (COVID-19). Unfortunately we have had to cancel some recent in-person events, and may have to cancel some more due to the current State-wide restrictions. Where events can run, all attendees will be required to follow the current COVIDSafe guidelines, including sign-in for contact tracing, physical distancing, personal protective equipment including fitted face masks where required and good hygiene.

To help us manage our events safely, all attendees for Community Planting Days are now required to register beforehand on the Eventbrite website.

Love Your Locals Day 2021
Expressions of Interest now open

Are you a Year 5-6 teacher, a student or a parent of a school in the Brimbank area of this age group?

Local Victorian species such as the Eastern Barred Bandicoot and the Orange Bellied Parrot once lived in abundance throughout the grasslands of Victoria's Western Volcanic Plains, right alongside your school. Now, due to habitat loss and introduced predators, there aren't as many of our furry and feathered friends around, that's why we need your help by sharing your ideas for a Western Region that preserves natural habitat and creates smarter, greener towns for both people and wildlife.
Love Your Locals Day is presented by Werribee Open Range Zoo in partnership with Wyndham and Brimbank City Councils and will run on Friday 3 September from 10am - 2.30pm.

If your school group has some ideas about how we can protect our wonderful native and threatened species here in Brimbank, please email to receive an expression of interest form.

Programs to Help you Save

Are you struggling to pay energy bills?
Home Energy Assist Program

The Victorian Government is providing assistance to households experiencing energy stress to keep energy bills in check. The Energy Savvy Upgrades program will partner with community organisations to offer subsidised energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to a limited number of households struggling to pay energy bills for reasons like living on a low income, living with a chronic or ongoing medical condition or mobility issues, caring for family members or loss of employment.

Eligible households can expect to receive:
  • a generous Government subsidy towards the cost of an energy efficiency home retrofit
  • free assistance to participate in the Solar Homes package
  • free guidance on the use of Victorian Energy Compare
  • an in-home energy assessment (cost is credited against upgrades conducted as a result of the assessment.)
The program is being delivered across Victoria between now and July 2021. For more information visit the Home Energy Assist Program website.
