The
Waimea Consort
August 31, 2016

Aloha Waimea Consort fans -

First, I hope everyone remains safe and dry during Madeline and Lester during these next few days! Second, I wanted to give all of our longtime fans (and you new ones, too!) an update on what we'll be doing in the coming months.

As you might already know, we unfortunately had to postpone our last scheduled concerts (May 2016). Lots of things have changed and happened since then! While we thought we were going to be able to perform again this Fall, it just didn't work out that way - we have to postpone once again.

The main reasons for this second postponement are simply scheduling logistics: lots of our members are taking extended vacations this Fall. If we can't practice together, we won't be able to perform well for you! So, we've decided to wait until Spring 2017 (maybe in March) to sing for you again. We will probably do a little Christmas Caroling during the holiday season - be on the lookout for us then. I'll send out an email to let you know when and where we carol. And, please contact us if you need caroling for your private parties!

In the meantime, please remember us when you're shopping at Foodland (or Sack N Save & Western Union) this September - they will match any donations made with your Maikaʻi card through the Give Aloha program. Also, please consider designating us as your Amazon Smile charity. It may not seem like a lot, but it does add up! See below for more information.

We're looking forward to singing for you again in the Spring! Mahalo nui loa for your continued support!

Aloha,

Pat E. Pérez
President, Waimea Consort

Ways to Support the Waimea Consort

Give Aloha – Foodland – September 2016

Give Aloha is Foodland’s Annual Community Matching Gifts Program, which honors Foodland’s founder, Maurice J. “Sully” Sullivan, and continues his legacy of giving back to the community.

During September, customers of Foodland (and Sack N Save) may make donations up to $249 to participating Hawaii non-profit organizations at checkout.  Individuals must use their own Maikaʻi card to make a donation. Foodland and the Western Union Foundation will match a portion of each donation made with a Maikaʻi card. Donations made without a Maikaʻi card will not be matched. The Consort’s code number is: 78816.

AmazonSmile

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers designate a charitable organization to which the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases. To participate, please use this link as your main bookmark for Amazon in the future:  https://smile.amazon.com/ch/65-1190179

Special Considerations:

For donations of $500, a subset of the Consort will sing at your private event – whether it be carols for Christmas, love songs for an engagement party, or a happy mix for a birthday party. You also could gift a performance elsewhere, such as to a retirement home or hospital.

For donations of $1000 or more, we will work with you to design an entire event featuring our special brand of choral music. We can even round out your special event with heavy pupus, depending upon the venue.

Donations will be acknowledged in the concert program of a future concert, unless you prefer that your gift remain anonymous.

All donations to the Waimea Consort are tax deductible. If you have questions, please call 808-238-5978 or reply to this email.
