This week, I attended the State EMS Council in Troy, NY. I participated in several committee meetings and learned more about what is happening in EMS throughout the state. Additionally, I have requested to be appointed as a member of the Finance Subcommittee and look forward to hearing back on my request. It was great to have so much representation of the Southwestern Region at the meeting, which included Dr. Brian Walters, Mickey Forness, Todd Reisner, Scott Lanphier, Dan Marsh, Alicia Broadbent, and myself.

Yesterday I participated in a Community Healthcare Conversation on Workforce Development: Diversity, Recruitment, Training & Retention. The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Community Relations team led this interactive discussion. I presented on our Southern Tier EMT-B Academy that the foundation funds. The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation funding has enabled us to host three academies, resulting in 26 newly certified EMT-Bs in our catchment. I look forward to continuing this success with future academies.
