Easter Break Tips
We hope you have an enjoyable break! If you have not left yet, here are some suggestions to help you have a safe vacation from howstuffworks.
  • Let your neighbors know you won't be home and ask them to keep an eye on the property. If you have built a positive relationship with your neighbor, you may be able to ask them to take your garbage bins out and back from the curb or alley following your departure. They can also let you know if something looks suspicious.
  • If you get a paper delivered to your house, have it stopped while you're gone (just like your mail!). If you're going to have it continue being delivered, ask a neighbor to take delivered papers inside. Newspapers, mail, packages, and door hangers left outside can be telltale signs that the home isn't occupied.
  • Keep your yard in good condition. Don't let it become overgrown, as this is another signal that no one is home.
  • Make sure all your doors and windows are locked. Also consider closing your blinds so people can't see into your residence.
  • Don't share that you are leaving your property for an extended period of time, or the details of your trip on social media.
  • Unplug all unnecessary electronics. This helps protect them in the event of a thunderstorm, and reduces the electricity bill while you are away.

Covid-19 Testing After Easter Break

Remember, as Dr. Ranit Mishori said in her April 6 email to the Georgetown Community, all undergraduate students will need to take a PCR test after Easter break the week of April 18, unless they have tested positive within the previous 90 days.

Schedule your test in advance via the One Medical App or website.
