VCRN @BioMedVic would like to wish you a very Merry Festive Season! 

The VCRN is celebrating a successful year of advocacy and enhancement of the capacity for clinicians, such as doctors, nurses and allied health professionals, to conduct research.
In the last newsletter of the year, we are highlighting some of the activities of VCRN in 2015.

Career Recognition Award

Awarded to Professor Euan Wallace OA, Monash Health

The VCRN Career Recognition Award is to identify and honour individuals with an outstanding record in patient-based research and clinical work, and who are regarded as having had substantial influence among peers and colleagues. The VCRN will be calling for nominations for the 2016 Career Recognition Award in the new year. For more information about this award, click here.  
This year, Professor Euan M Wallace of Monash Health was honoured for his outstanding record in clinical research and research training with a Career Recognition Award by the BioMedVic. More information and photos of the event, click here.

2015 Early Career Clinician Researcher (ECCR) Awards

The inagural VCRN 2015 ECCR Award were presented by Kathleen Philip, Chief Allied Health Advisor.

Winners ($1000 Prize) 
- Dr Elif Ekinci from Austin Health - Medical Category, and
- Dr Carmen Pace from Murdoch Childrens Research Institute - Allied Health Category. 

Commendation ($500 Prize)
- Dr Cylie Williams, Peninsula Health and Monash University
- Dr Jacqui Frowen, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Statistics Forum for Clinical Research

Help for the desperate: Statistics for Clinical Research

For the last event of the year, the VCRN hosted a Statistics Forum for Clinical Research at Alfred Medical and Research Education Precinct. A very entertaining and 'significantly' enlightening presentation was given by Professor David Vaux, from the Walter Eliza Hall Institute. The presentation was followed by a networking session over drinks and canapes.
