VIDEO. Signed by Sewer Authority Mid-Coastside, City of Half Moon Bay, Granada Community Services District (GCSD), Montara Sewer and Water District (MSWD) in 1988.
As a part of the JPA, the Collections agreement was signed in 1988 by all the three (3) Member Agencies. Each agency had a separate agreement which was signed by them individually but the language in the agreement was common to all the agencies. HMB made a change to the Collections Agreement as they wanted to change to a Task based fee schedule and adopted it on July 24, 2018.

OWN VOICE. ~ InPerspective by Gregg Dieguez
The fire hazard stemming from eucalyptus trees has been long understood, and documented in Coastside Buzz before. What I think is new now is that it’s finally time to solve the problem. So let’s review what’s known and suggest a plan for action. Consider this article a working draft for what should become a more official plan.
The danger from eucalyptus trees is not just an exploding roman candle of fire enveloping the tree canopy and then destroying homes. It is also the potential loss of life during attempted evacuation when fallen trees block our only exit road. Note that with a shallow root system, an earthquake (not only a wildfire) could topple eucalyptus over our exit road. Further, the danger is also the loss of, or massive cost increase in, our home insurance policies.

PRESS RELEASE.
As you may have seen in past editions of eNews, the City began a pilot parking striping project in the neighborhood near Poplar Beach and Half Moon Bay State Beach to help alleviate beach access impacts. Throughout the year, the City has received complaints from residents near beaches regarding the impacts from visitors over the spring and summer. By defining existing parking into specific parking spaces, the City’s goal is to minimize parking impacts to those neighborhoods that typically see a large influx of visitors during the peak travel season. The increase in parking demand on these streets has led to significant overcrowding, blocking of driveways, and impeding access for emergency responders.

DISCUSSION: A local resident has approached the City to request permission to temporarily place a collection of art aimed toward peace and activism. The art would be placed for roughly three-four weeks, after which time it will be presented to the United Nations as an initiative to build peace across nations.
The goal of this project is to inspire and mobilize people to use art as activism to educate and advocate for policy change. The canvas collage will be placed either in Mac Dutra Park or at the northeast corner of Main and Kelly, dependent on best location once approved.

PODCAST. When water comes rushing out of the tap, seemingly clear and perfect, it’s easy to think we’ve got it figured out. It’s hard to imagine that the underground labyrinth that brings us drinking water, and takes away our dirty sewage, is old, crumbling and in real trouble. Quench your thirst for knowledge and drama as we dive into the strangely fascinating world of clean water. Hosted by Jed Kim, In Deep is a new podcast from American Public Media’s The Water Main.

CONGRATULATIONS VIDEO. Thank you for your service Chief Cosgrave.
On September 10, 2020, I celebrated my 30th year of serving you on the coast on the last 24 hours of my 624 hour shift by having the 6th star embroidered on my Class A dress jacket. The stars on our sleeves represent 5 years of service. Mina at Peninsula Uniforms was kind enough to film the process for me and apologized for the diminished quality of the video from her phone. I personally think it makes it more nostalgic!
