The Gold Rush – Silent Film Night with Live Piano
On Saturday, March 3rd, Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows will present Montara resident, Shauna Picket-Gordon, performing live piano accompaniment to a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s 1925 silent film classic, Gold Rush.
This is a unique opportunity for people to experience the magic of live music scored to cinema, which is the way the films were shown before the advent of sound in the early 1930’s. Shauna has taught piano, voice and composition for years, and was educated at USC’s School of Music and at the Music Academy of the West.

The City Council of Half Moon Bay invites all community members to attend a “Listening Session” in March, and to share their own vision for the City’s priorities in the upcoming year. The purpose of these sessions is for the City Council members to hear directly from the people who live and work here, and gain a broad range of community input on what people feel are the critical priorities the City should be focusing on.
