Pete Collom Art is Happiness Therapy

PHOTO-ESSAY. Pete visited a boy he didn’t know, because he needed cheering up. He taught him shakas and gave him a shark-a-la-Collom painting.

“This life is beyond heavy… sometimes it is not up to you, when it truly becomes heavy, you realize its not just about you but how you impact others…Arav reminds me how to embrace these aspects of love, a reason to keep doing my work and when it puts a smile on a face, then I know I’m on the right path.”

How Long Can CCWD Provide Water During a PG&E Fire Safety Shutdown?

VIDEO. Assistant General Manager, Mary Rogren, reports on how Coastside County Water District is positioning themselves for PG&E safety shut downs for fire emergencies.

CCWD has 8 million gallons stored. CCWD usage per day is 1.5 million gallons. 4 million gallons are always reserved for fire fighting response. That means CCWD has a minimum of 3 days of water.  General Manager, Dave Dickson, says a lot of electric water appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, insta -hot) won’t work and water demand will go down.

SMCO Planning Voted NO on SFPUC Weather Station and Montara Closure

ARTICLE/ LINKS/ VIDEO. The San Mateo County Planning Commission today (Wed. August 28th, 2019) voted 5-0 that the SFPUC’s new installation on Montara Mountain’s North Peak (specifically the fence closing all public access to the peak) does NOT conform to the County’s General Plan.

Since this determination is advisory only, it may have no consequence, as no County permits are required for the project.
