VIDEO. This afternoon, CalTrans released a press release regarding a Wed. 8/26/2020 meeting to present a proposal for a painted-on crosswalk installation at Hwy 1 and Miramar Drive.
Wed. 8/26/20204:00pm to 5:30pm Join the Webex Meeting
NOTE: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CURRENT MIRADA BRIDGE CLOSURE.
It came from CalTran with NO warning to County; “a complete surprise”, said Supervisor Horsley’s aide, Chris Hunter.
CalTran never even discussed this possibility at any Connect the Coastside Meeting, over the last year.
Chris believes, like the Moss Beach painted cross walk that just appreared with no coordination with the County, that CalTrans responded to a local resident’s complaint for safety.

I wish to apologize to all the businesses that were closed this week. I am not supportive of these actions and, for San Mateo County, I believe they are misdirected and will cause more harm than good. This action is a bit like looking for your lost keys under a streetlight even though you lost them miles away. If you have read my previous statements, you know I put great import on balance. We have to minimize spread while not destroying everything else in the process.

We’ve been saying for weeks that the U.S. wasn’t ready to re-open schools. The virus isn’t controlled. Rapid testing isn’t widely available – and what good are test results a week later? Testing in the U.S. is a bad joke – finding a week-old case of the virus does almost no good at all in stopping the spread, and our inflated test counts are meaningless. We explained that most of the U.S. was still out of control in July, and called it slow motion manslaughter. Then we detailed the evidence from six (6) countries which detailed the outbreaks caused by schools being opened. Part of that last article was an analysis from researchers at University of Texas at Austin , which forecast that over 80% of the counties in the U.S. would have at least one infected person show up in a school of 500 students.

OWN VOICE. ~ InPerspective by Gregg Dieguez
Remember my article on electric vehicles getting better? Now we have a Mercedes Benz concept car with 700km (434 mi) range that recharges in ~15 mins, with 469 HP, and drives sideways… Not much of a trunk, though it seats 4.

COVID-19 testing will be available at Cunha Intermediate School intermittently, on some Tuesdays, from 9:00am – 3:00p.m. through Project Baseline.
Moving forward, it appears testing in HMB will continue 2 Tuesdays on and 2 Tuesdays off for the foreseeable future. Testing appointments open 72 hours in advance so for Tuesdays, that means anyone can sign-up starting the prior Saturday. But the trick is that more appointments are released from Saturday right up to the day of, so if at first one doesn’t succeed they should keep trying. Stay tuned!

As a personal chef, I specialize in recreating authentic, vegan, gluten free paella. My pleasure is to keep paella coming to your table for your parties. No job is ever too big, or too small, too near or too far. Please contact me for more information or to book a date. ~ Richard
