OWN VOICE. ~ InPerspective by Gregg Dieguez.
Let’s talk about the greatest challenge in modern society: how to tell facts from fiction. Thinking is hard work, even moreso when you don’t have accurate information with which to reason. And without a shared foundation of facts, we cannot have a shared mental model of causality, and we can’t agree on actions for major issues like: Pandemics, or the Climate Crisis. You’ve probably gotten ‘those emails’ from acquaintances, the ones with videos you “must watch” and news articles which ‘reveal the truth’. And if you invest the time, too often you find that the source omitted relevant facts (or even made them up), created a false premise, cited a discredited ‘expert’, and then swept you up in an emotional narrative leading to a conspiracy theory or false conclusion. These days, it happens more than ever.

Plan overview: The ADA-compliant plan is designed in three sections: a “village green” to the south, preserving the view down Avenue Portola, an active recreation area in the center across from existing buildings, and a large area to the north with small picnic and exercise areas, natural landscaping, and ocean views. A mix of wide and narrow trails run throughout the park, and at the south end a new trail would lead to the highway crossing and Coastal Trail at Coronado Avenue.

During the opening and for all gallery visits thereafter, safety protocols for the health and well-being of visitors, volunteers, and staff will include physical distancing and limiting the number of people in the galleries; a short wait outside may therefore be required.
