The adopted penalty structure draws distinctions between individuals and non-commercial entities, and commercial entities where violations jeopardize the health of both employees and customers.
Individuals can receive a $100 fine for the first violation, $200 for the second and $500 for additional violations with the same year.
Commercial entities risk a minimum fine of $250 and a maximum of $3,000 per violation depending on the gravity of the health risk, prior warnings and any good faith efforts to comply. Enforcement officers must personally observe an individual’s violation but can also receive a credible report for a business.

VIDEO. On April 13, 2020, the Board approved the design for the Wet Weather Storage Facility Expansion Project (“WWSFE Project”) and authorized staff to advertise the notice for bids.
The bids were received on May 29, 2020 and the apparent lowest responsive bidder was priced at $1,339,500, which was greater than Staff’s estimated cost.
The WWSFE Project meets the terms of the settlement agreement with the RWQCB associated with prior spills in SAM’s service area, and failure to approve the WWSFE Project will mean SAM has an obligation to pay a fine of $300,000 to the Regional Board.

PHOTO-ESSSAY. Who pays? San Diego Boat Movers, Leland Parsons, still loves his job at 80 years old, told me a pretty good story today at the boat ramps at Pillar Point Harbor.
There once was a crab and salmon fisherman who needed to buy a new fishing boat. Turns out salmon and crab licenses are attached to the boat, not the person, and so the fisherman could not fish for salmon or crab without finding a boat that had salmon and crab licenses attached.Unwelding The BE-BE. Bye-bye BE-BE.
Enter the BE-BE. The Captain of the BE-BE was done fishing. The BE-BE had to be demolished…but it had salmon and crab licenses attached. The fisherman bought the BE-BE for her licenses and transferred them to his new boat.

COVID-19 testing will be available at Cunha Intermediate School intermittently, on some Tuesdays, from 9:00am – 3:00p.m. through Project Baseline.
Moving forward, it appears testing in HMB will continue 2 Tuesdays on and 2 Tuesdays off for the foreseeable future. Testing appointments open 72 hours in advance so for Tuesdays, that means anyone can sign-up starting the prior Saturday. But the trick is that more appointments are released from Saturday right up to the day of, so if at first one doesn’t succeed they should keep trying. Stay tuned!

Now that California has added art galleries to the list of businesses that may re-open, we are delighted to announce that new exhibitions will open on Friday, July 10, 1–5pm.
During the opening and for all gallery visits thereafter, safety protocols for the health and well-being of visitors, volunteers, and staff will include physical distancing and limiting the number of people in the galleries; a short wait outside may therefore be required.
We are delighted to welcome back to our East Gallery the Loom & Shuttle Guild, presenting 20/20: Woven Visions, an exhibition of handcrafted and handwoven textile artworks.

As a personal chef, I specialize in recreating authentic, vegan, gluten free paella. My pleasure is to keep paella coming to your table for your parties. No job is ever too big, or too small, too near or too far. Please contact me for more information or to book a date. ~ Richard
