San Mateo County Proposes Acquiring 540 Acres Tunitas Creek, East Hwy 1

The County of San Mateo proposes to acquire the subject parcels for the creation of a County park with visitor-serving amenities. The subject parcels are ocean front and located on the western side of Cabrillo Highway between Half Moon Bay and Pescadero. Any specific developments proposed on the property would require appropriate permits and would be reviewed by the County at the time of project submittal. InPerspective: How Risky Is COVID-19 … HERE?

ARTICLE OWN VOICE, OWN WORDS. When you first heard about COVID-19, your reaction was likely “Am I going to get sick and/or DIE from this thing?” Followed closely by: “Is someone I CARE ABOUT going to get sick and/or DIE from this thing?”. Followed, with some delay, by financial, economic, social, and cultural concerns. All that is completely understandable. Less so, is why you can’t get answers to your first question.

Measure D Allocation Process and Ranking Study Session for HMB Planning

A staff report, resolution, ranking matrix, and detailed interpretations were prepared for the Commission’s consideration on March 24. These materials remain relevant for the sake of holding a discussion about this matter. While this circumstance may be fortuitous for these applicants, it does not resolve what staff believes will be an on-going challenge. In fact there are several applicants currently waiting to apply for certificates this year in hopes that City Council will transfer certificates from Downtown to outside Downtown in September.

Chief Cosgrave’s Mission for the Week ~ Defensible Space

Hello Coastsiders,

So on this third Friday of community sheltering in place – a true marathon not a sprint – Coastside CERT is continuing to check in.

We hope you are staying informed with official trusted information and the preventative measures you are taking are becoming part of your ‘new normal.’ I’m doing my best to not get too wrapped up in all the various statistics, talking heads, and social media self-declared “experts”.

As an essential employee, I have not been sheltering in a single household but I have heard several acquaintances say they are starting to get cabin fever, one wondering out loud if the families in the Donner party were even hungry.
