Are We There Yet? (with COVID)

OWN VOICE. ~ InPerspective by Bruce Laird, with Gregg Dieguez —

Not So Fast. “To use the vernacular: Things are getting better; but baby it’s not over yet. Those who are getting mild or asymptomatic infections are creating more variants and spreading those variants – making things worse for the rest of the country.”
– Dr. Jorge Rodriguez, on CNN, 8 Feb 2021

Can We Talk?

OWN VOICE. ~ InPerspective by Gregg Dieguez —

Well, we finally found out what the lawsuit by HMB vs. its sister agencies in SAM is about: Money. Of course we KNEW that, but now we have a better idea about how much. When the HMB reps again voted to approve some infrastructure projects last week at SAM, but read a prepared statement to the effect that: “if we win the lawsuit you have to pay us back”, I did some digging.

It appears that there is about $6 million up in the air on similar projects. So, if HMB’s share of the cost is zero, instead of about 50%, then that’s an extra $3 million facing MidCoast (and some HMB) residents using MWSD or GCSD.

Pacifica Parents Petition School District to Set a Date for Return to School this Year

Concerned Parents of Pacifica School District started this petition to Pacifica School District Board Members and Superintendent

In the Fall, the lack of conclusive public health data on in-person transmission of COVID-19 aligned with Pacifica School District’s decision to remain virtual. Now, however, there is overwhelming evidence that in-person learning with mitigations does not transmit COVID-19. This evidence comes from around the globe, from elsewhere in the United States, from other districts in the state, and from private and preschools locally.
