Elephant Seals Fighting for Their Valentine ;-)

VIDEO / PHOTO. Call me Mirounga! Northern elephant seal bull daddios fighting for a harem.   A one minute edit of the mighty northern elephant seal. During their annual winter haul out at Año Nuevo, males, females and pups are together for a few months of no food or water but plenty of action. These elephant seals (Mirounga angustirostris) were almost lost to extinction, but this species rebounded from the gene pool of a small group found at Guadalupe Island in the early 20th century. Filmed these wild beasties January 2019. Video: Rob Cala & Heels on Hills.

Is this Paw Print from a Mountain Lion or a Big Dog?

VIDEO/ PHOTO. Print found by Jose Tamez, in his backyard, on the south perimeter of the Pillar Ridge Manufactured Home Park.

Whatever created this print, nearly ate his dog going out for a night time pee. His flashlight scared “it” off.

Takeaway? If you let your dog out at night to pee, use bright lights.

Watch video, then compare. I say Dog. What say you?

Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows presents two classic silent films accompanied with live music performed and composed by Coastside musician, Shauna Pickett-Gordon.

The Immigrant (Charles Chaplin – 1917 – 25 min)

Charlie Chaplin’s Tramp character stars as an immigrant coming to the United States, who is accused of theft on the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean and falls in love with a beautiful young woman along the way. When he arrives in New York, his troubles have only begun.
“The Immigrant is a delightful mini masterpiece from one of the screen’s finest comedians. Do take the time to see it. It’s famous for a reason.” Movies Silently

Sherlock, Jr. (Buster Keaton – 1924 – 44 Min)

Buster Keaton plays Sherlock, a daydreaming movie projectionist in love with an unattainable woman. While napping on the job, Sherlock dream walks into a surrealistic fantasy world, where he battles dastardly villains and wins the heart of his gal.
“No other silent films turns logic on its head with such grace and comic hilarity.”
