CoastPride and Sacrilege Brewery Silent Auction and LG”Beer”TQ Hibiscus Blonde!

We are excited for our first Fundraiser hosted by Sacrilege Brewery. Please come out and wet your whistle with The Stonewall Inn IPA and Sacrilege’s home brewed first  house made hibiscus blonde – LG”Beer”TQ –  not a straight blonde ale. Proceeds from these 2 beers will go towards CoastPride fundraising.

This year The Stonewall Inn will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the historic riots and welcome World Pride to NYC in June. For the last few years the Brooklyn Brewery has been a proud sponser and support and supporter of SIGBI, an organization that channels decades of LGBTQ+ rights activism towards supporting and advancing LGBTQ+ communities in the U.S. and worldwide through events, fundraisers, social media campaigns, donations and more.

We will be having a silent auction which will consist of local businesses contributing to help with our fundraising. We will have exciting gift certificates for local restaurants,  surf lessons, yummy sweet desserts, whiskey tastings. Keep checking back for updates.

TIME  (Friday) 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

LOCATION  Sacrilege Brewery + Kitchen, 730 Main St, HMB.     (650) 276-7029

Should I Plant Milkweed on the Coastside to Save the Monarchs? NO! Plant Nectaring Flowers!

LINK ARTICLE.  by  of Bay Nature. March 3, 2015.

If you were a struggling insect beset by habitat loss, you’d best be a monarch butterfly. Unlike your more obscure cousins, you certainly wouldn’t slip into extinction without a bang.

In fact, we’re in a bit of a monarch mania at the moment as the population count continues to drop.

The Obama Administration recently tossed a cool $3.2 million to restore monarch butterfly habitat in the Midwest with the aim of getting the eastern population to a billion (fewer than 50 million monarchs made it to Mexico last winter). Meanwhile, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has started a status review to see if monarchs deserve to be listed under the Endangered Species Act.

New Sheriff Contract to Treat HMB Beaches as an Enforcement Priority

VIDEO. Watch Bob Nisbet (City Manager HMB) present the final Sheriff contract for the next 3 years @ $3.4 million. The use of private security will help with the closing various park gates, and fill in the sheriff gaps. Last weekend they had a domestic violence call that took them away from clearing Poplar Beach. The Sheriffs are buying a police 4-wheel drive for the beach, with logo, light and police communication capabilities. The City is also buying a 4-wheel drive public works rig.  There are also Sheriffs on bikes, now. Say hi!

Bob Nisbet also managed to add in a clause specific to HMB beaches an enforcement priority.

Sacrilege Brewery

sac·ri·lege – noun – a  violation or misuse of what is regarded as sacred.

At Sacrilege, we embrace the irreverent, the uncommon, and the unexpected.  From Wasabi + Pickled Ginger Saison to burgers on an English muffin to our extraordinary, ever rotating tap list, you can have faith that we will transcend the typical, in pursuit of the memorable.

Owner/Brewmaster Joe Pacini

Born and raised in the rural hills of Northeastern Pennsylvania. His love for travel and adventure brought him to California where his passion for the Coastside began.

Combining his more than sixteen years of restaurant experience with ten years in the Bay Area beer scene, (and a somewhat unhealthy obsession with craft beer and brewing) led to the creation of  Sacrilege Brewery + Kitchen in downtown Half Moon Bay in 2016.

In my first years of brewing, I was told that brewing outside of the four “sacred” ingredients, malt, hops, water and yeast, was sacrilege.  To which I responded, “So be it.”

Bedtime Stories Podcast ~ Poppleton

PODCAST.  Poppleton
is the main character in a series of children’s books written by American author Cynthia Rylant.Illustrated by Mark Teague. Published originally by Blue Sky press in 1997. Also published by Viking and Scholastic.

Poppleton was read on December 14th, 1997 by Ms. Felicia Howell’s 5th grade after-school technology group at Lead Elementary School in San Mateo. This was their first podcast ever! We recorded Poppleton by passing the book and the mic around a table in the library. It was a lot of fun.   Read by: Ms. Howell, Leilani, Rylee, Tru, Michelle, Osvaldo, Iztasu and Bobby

The stories follow a pig named Poppleton who moves from the city to a small town and enjoys humorous adventures with his friends and neighbors. This series is marketed to children ages 5 to 9.[1][2][3] Poppleton was the mascot for American Library Association‘s 1997 reading campaign.[4]  ~Wikipedia
