Bedtime Stories presents the poem The Charge of Light Brigade, read by Liz Evans (formerly Knier). The Charge of the Light Brigade was written by Alfred Lord Tennyson in 1854 after the bloody battle of Balaclava during the Crimean war.
This may be tough to listen to for some, but Liz captures it perfectly. After all, her dad, Earl Knier, read it to her for bedtime stories. He was World War II pilot, who was the son of World War I pilot. Many military families look to this poem as the hallmark of the courage and the discipline that must happen in the field. Men (and women, now) must follow their general, even if the general is in error.
