VIDEO. From the San Mateo County Agricultural Advisory Committee meeting Monday, 11/14/2020. American Tower owns the land and leases it to Sprint and AT&T. This is a maintenance project to the existing fire road. Four Fire Truck turnouts will also be graded.
This maintenance occurs every 10 years or so.
The ACC unanimously approved the maintenance after an interesting discussion on who pays for the grading.

OWN VOICE. The approach that San Mateo County is taking to house homeless people is one of several options that are used in major cities around the country.
The idea of buying a motel, having a security team in front making sure only authorized residents access their room, and then having support nearby—health care, mental health care, case managers and social workers—is a model that can be successful in helping people move beyond homelessness if executed properly.
Wynne Tang (Director of Finance), of TH Clinic in San Francisco, said that the benefit to the homeless people in having an address is stability:
- an address to put on a job application
- access to a case manager
- referrals to benefits and professional help, if needed

There have been some difficult conversations this Holiday season. Let’s hope yours are BEFORE a holiday visit, rather than a few weeks after. What we’re seeing with COVID-19 today is the Thanksgiving we just had. U.S. coronavirus deaths soared to a daily record of 3,580 and hospitalizations rose for the 19th straight day on Wednesday. Here are some things we should all understand, and then I’ll end this article on a couple of lighter notes…An Antietam a day? Note: casualty deaths only; omits some disasters.

In the 1960’s, Montara Water and Sanitary District (MWSD) successfully operated an independent wastewater system for our community that met state and federal water quality standards. Our safely treated wastewater was discharged offshore into the Pacific Ocean near our office. Granada Community Services District (GCSD) and the City of Half Moon Bay (HMB) operated separate sewage systems with aging treatment plants that did not meet evolving standards.

Staff met with the Public Safety Subcommittee to present their white paper draft. The paper discusses a series of topics identified through facilitated discussions regarding law enforcement in Half Moon Bay. Staff continues to perform research on numerous topics to include in the white paper. This research will be finalized, and the finished paper will be presented in early 2021.

The City of Half Moon Bay and County of San Mateo – Government have partnered to offer more COVID-19 testing on the Coastside.
Using Curative self-administered testing kits, you simply swab your own mouth and you’re done.
Testing will offer safe, outdoor walk-up access.
Tests are free, no insurance necessary, but if you have it, bring your information.
