Fine weather boosts numbers again
At last some fine weather for Tamworth and an associated increase in numbers. Buyers described the market as firm and the MLA quoted lightweight vealer and yearling steers up to 26c dearer on last week’s market and the heifers up to 10c/kg. Numbers are also building for our Spring Special Store sale this Friday 30th September with 2000-2500 cattle expected.
STEERS Vealer steers sold to 470c/kg (444c/kg), yearlings sold to 431c/kg (414c/kg) and grown steers sold to 375c/kg (383c/kg). Highlights included: .
Angus steers sold by IML on account of the breeder, Willow Tree made 415c/kg and averaged 274kg/$1132
Angus steers sold by IML on account Emerton, Willow Tree made 410c/kg and averaged 320kg/ $1312;
Angus steers (pictured below right) sold by IML on account Groveleigh made 387c/kg and averaged 415kg/$1606 & 389kg/$1540;
2 tooth Angus x steers sold by PSPF on account of Maryland Farm made 336c/kg and averaged 566kg/$1902;
4&6 tooth steers sold by PSPF on account D & T Yarnold made 327c/kg and came back at 600kg/$1964; and
Steers (pictured below left) sold by IML on account Perkins made 350c/kg and averaged 611kg/$2141.
HEIFERS Vealer heifers sold to 370c/kg (385c/kg), yearlings sold to 394c/kg (386c/kg) and grown heifers sold to 367c/kg (340c/kg). Highlights included:
Angus heifers sold by IML on account the breeder, Willow Tree made 379c/kg and averaged 308kg/$1167;
Euro heifers (pictured below left) sold by G&C on account Habgood & Greenland, Willow Tree NSW, made 376c/kg and averaged 394kg/$1481;
Heifers sold by IML on account Tamworth grazier made 380c/kg and averaged 398kg/$1517;
4 and 6 tooth Angus x heifers sold by PSPF on account of D & T Yarnold made 305c/kg and averaged 527kg/$1610;
4 and 6 tooth heifers (pictured below right) sold by ELD on account Kansas Angus made 324c/kg at estimated 550kg/$1782.
COWS Cows sold to 288c/kg (289c/kg) for an estimated top price of $2200.
BULLS Bulls sold to 295c/kg (349c/kg) for an estimated top price of $2600.
