Hello and welcome to the first Primary PE Passport newsletter. We hope you are enjoying using thThis is a very quick process for an administrator – 5 minutes max for the whole school. As we are continually improving and developing the software, we feel it will be useful to keep you up to date with the developments on the app and will detail as much information as we can within the newsletter. In addition, we will be able to inform you of where we are up to with regards to ironing out any glitches we encounter - similar to the recent ones with the change to iOS10.
With this in mind, we have not invoiced you yet and won't be doing so until we are 100% happy with the product: It won't be too far away!
The most recent update (4.3.1) is live. Version 4.3.2 is in review now and includes lesson unit amendments; extra-curricular register fixes; changes to login screen layout and other general bug fixes. We are in the process of moving to a weekly release cycle and this release should be live in the next day or so. In addition it also contains further iOS10 related fixes; a cleaner administration screen incorporating pupil register administration amends and a class names’ editing facility.
Occasionally, as with most new technology, you may experience technical problems with using the app. To help you solved these issues as quickly and effectively as possible we have set up a dedicated support team. You can contact them directly on 0844 880 0987 between the hours of 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can email them on firstname.lastname@example.org where we aim to get back to you within 24 hours. There is also a live chat option on the website www.primarypepassport.co.uk which can be accessed through the link on the bottom right of the screen.
As well as the technical support we are also developing a FAQ feature on the website so you will be able to find out more information (or even solve an issue) without contacting support. Some FAQ’s include:
Q: Why can’t I log in?
A: The first thing to do before you login is make sure you are running the latest software on your iPad. The login details are computer generated and case sensitive and sometimes they can self - predict so input them carefully (the fact you can now see what you are writing should help!). It is also important that you are connected to the internet when you login. If you are still not having success, there may be a firewall issue so please get in contact with us as we have a number of steps to follow with your IT department to open a few ports. Don't worry as we haven't had anyone who can't login at all!
Q: Why can’t I access the videos?
A: Our videos are a combination of YouTube and Vimeo, so access to both is required. Also, although an internet connection is not required to run the app, it is to play a video link. Finally, with the update of the lesson content, many videos have been removed as they are no longer relevant; these will be replaced shortly.
Q: I was on trial last year and my classes had a teacher’s initials next to them – why haven’t classes got teachers’ initials again this year?
A: Having starting a new academic year, the children have been automatically placed in the year group above, however they are still grouped in their class which will still be named as it was last year. As this is different for every school we have decided to input an edit section into administration for each school to change the name of their classes themselves.This is a very quick process for an administrator – 5 minutes max for the whole school. This is currently in testing and will be live very shortly.
Q: I have a mixed class, what do I do?
A: If you have mixed classes you may have had difficulty in setting these up. The system is currently set up with children grouped in their chronological year group. Please be aware that we are currently addressing this and we will have a solution for you in the very near future. For the moment our advice is to manually edit each child so they are in the same year group; this will allow your entire class to appear for your lessons. However, this will mean that at the moment, when looking at reporting, you will need to add the children through the class list filter.

The PE Passport has evolved into the product is now is thanks to feedback and suggestions from its users. Therefore, your feedback is paramount to our product development and any changes we make will be centred around the feedback we receive, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
