Welcome to the Digital Innovations for Growth Academy Newsletter

We are excited to bring you news of our Digital Innovations for Growth Academy (DIGA). DIGA is a partnership of dynamic organisations working across Europe who support enterprise development and promote the use of digital technologies.  The partner organisations operate in 7 different countries, working with individuals and businesses and have a common goal of improving information, training and advice available to entrepreneurs and those that support them.  Partners are working together to develop an innovative learning programme for those providing entrepreneurship and business development training and advice.

Digital Competence Framework

The DigComp just updated the digital competence framework which includes 5 areas: Information & data literacy; Communication & Collaboration; Digital content creation; Safety; Problem Solving.

Information and communication technology (ICT) has the potential to transform teaching and learning processes. However, most countries face challenges in measuring the impact of investments in infrastructure, massive roll-outs of teacher training initiatives, and usage in the classroom.

Celebration of DIGA’s successful pilot programme in Spain

The celebration of the end of the blended course “ICT for Academy” with a delivery of certificates for all those participants who had passed the course successfully happened in October in Spain.
The contents of the course, included “Making Digital Deliver for the Start-up and Small Business” or “Designing Integrated Entrepreneur Support / Programmes”.

5th Meeting of the Diga project in Bulgaria



On October 26-27 the fifth meeting that reunited the members of the DIGA project (Digital Innovations for Growth Academy) took place in Sofia (Bulgaria). The different partners implementing the pilot projects in Ireland, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania and Spain joined by DIGA researcher from Ireland worked on the nexts steps to achieve the growth and the development of the DIGA project.

The items discussed at this meeting were:
  • Findings from development & test piloting of DIGA training materials
  • Materials coming in 2017:
    • Online materials for Open Access
    • Final Programme guidance
    • Evaluation and impact measurement 
  • Partner Meeting in 2017:
    • 6th partner meeting on 25th and 26th May in Kaunas, Lithuania
    • Partners are hosting a series of dissemination events in May
