Jennifer McCarron named President of Atomic

The Thunderbird Group has appointed Jennifer Twiner-McCarron as president of Atomic Cartoons, charged with continuing our growth and collaborations with partners.

Jennifer has been with Atomic since 2011, when she joined as head of production. She has supervised all in-house production and grown the animation team from 30 to 200-plus artists. She has led production on multiple titles, including Beat Bugs, the upcoming Netflix original series for kids featuring songs from the John Lennon/Paul McCartney catalogue; the award-winning Rocket Monkeys for TELETOON; and Little Charmers for Spin Master and Nelvana.

“I am thrilled to be taking on this new role at Atomic Cartoons at such an exciting time of growth and opportunity for Thunderbird and Atomic,” Twiner-McCarron said. “The talented people at Atomic Cartoons are innovative and passionate about animation, and I am honoured to be a part of this world-class team.”

What do you do at Atomic?
I work in the accounting department processing payroll and accounts payable.

Explain your daily work day... A typical work day is composed of paperwork, data entry, emails and phone calls. It might sound uninteresting to most people, but it’s really rewarding!

How long have you been at Atomic? The beginning of August will mark one year!

How did you get into accounting? I’ve always been fond of numbers and puzzles. After my first accounting 101 basics course I was hooked!

What Post-Secondary School did you go to and why did you choose that school? I attended Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, since it had a great business program, small class sizes, and was only a 20 minute drive away from home.

Favourite things to do in Vancouver? I enjoy exploring the city for neat coffee shops, parks and hiking trails. I also relish relaxing at home, trying out new recipes and working on sewing projects.
