The Monday Five is a snapshot of one Atlanta neighborhood in five fun factoids.
Just a short bike ride down the Beltline from Virginia Highland is our newest listing. Priced at $239,900, we had 7 showing requests and 2 offers within three days of being on the market. This is indicative of the the in-town real estate market, where we've seen values soaring up to 40% year over year in some areas.
4 bedroom homes in VaHi are currently listed for $274 per square foot and are selling in just 27 days on average
Home prices vary drastically, even within this small neighborhood. 2 bedroom homes are currently going for an average of $249k, while 5 bedroom homes are selling for $1.35M. Surprisingly, 4 and 5 bed homes are also selling almost twice as fast as 2 bedroom properties
Single family homes in VaHi have been in high demand since the market rebounded. An average of 100 SFR were sold each year in 2013 & 2014, but only 51 homes have been sold this year in the neighborhood
The Highland-Virginia Civic Association formed in 1970s to promote the development of the proposed I-485 highway. The opposition group called themselves the Virginia-Highland Civic Association, which gave the neighborhood its name when the highway project was abandoned
