Day of Caring 2016

Why Volunteer? 
The biggest volunteer event in the Northern Shenandoah Valley is calling your name! With an estimated 1,000+ volunteers, Day of Caring is THE day to give your time and energy to our area’s nonprofits!

UVote helps students learn about the process of voter registration and become more informed about their role in the voting process.  The UVote model meets students where they are, making the registration process simple, consistent, and streamlined, and offering continued support for students navigating the voting process.
UVote is currently looking for volunteers to help with voter registration in the future!  If you are interested in helping, contact Taylor Burke at and check out our UVote website for more information.
Campus Garden
The Shenandoah Salvage Company and the Environmental Studies Program are looking for volunteers to help plant and tend a new garden starting this spring.

Museum of the Shenandoah Valley 
Support Volunteer Positions Available

Support Volunteers assist in one or more areas throughout the campus such as in the gardens, gallery lobby, Admissions, and Education programs. 

Requirements: Basic Support Volunteer training is a commitment of 4-5 hours over a 1-2 week period. Training includes orientation in campus safety and security, the gallery floor plan, and a garden overview. They prefer a commitment of at least one day a week. Support Volunteers may participate Tuesday-Sunday 10am–1pm or

Qualifications: The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, walking on hard surfaces, indoors or outdoors; desire to work with visitors of all ages.
